bio
Introducing Coach Elise! She was born and raised in Albuquerque and graduated from Del Norte High School. She made a name for herself as a standout two sport, 4-year Varsity athlete, playing volleyball and basketball. Throughout her high school career, she earned All-District and All-Metro honors in both sports. Elise joins ARVC’s deep collegiate athlete list. She played college basketball at Western New Mexico University.
Volleyball has been a part of her life since the 4th grade, where she first took up the setter position, and she continues to play competitively to this day. Elise has over 6 years of coaching experience, working with athletes ranging from 6-year-olds to high school seniors, & coaching both volleyball and basketball. Her love for the game and drive to coach was shaped early on, growing up with her father who coached. They spent countless hours in the gym together making her the ultimate student of the game. This experience inspired her to stay in the sports world and eventually pursue coaching.
In addition to her athletic background, Elise holds a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education and is currently a high-needs Special Education teacher at Del Norte High School, where she works with students who require additional support. This educational experience deeply influences her coaching philosophy, which emphasizes the importance of being a well-rounded student-athlete. Academics always come first, and she is committed to helping her athletes develop the knowledge and skills they need to succeed both on and off the court, empowering them to become their best selves.
When she’s not coaching or in the classroom, you can find Elise playing volleyball or spending quality time with her family.
Coach Elise’s approach to coaching goes beyond just the sport; she strives to instill values of discipline, teamwork, and perseverance that will serve her athletes both on and off the court. We are ecstatic to have Elise join our ARVC Coaching Staff!
