13U Academy Coach
bio
We’ve got an Alumni in the house!!!
Coach Maddie is from Pena Blanca, New Mexico, and has spent her high school years in Albuquerque. She is currently a student at La Cueva High School set to graduate this year. Maddie played volleyball for three years, primarily as an Opposite and Middle Blocker. She’s a former rebel, having played for a 13, 15, and 16 National team. She also played C & JV for one of New Mexico’s top 5A high school which is where she developed a strong love for the sport.
After undergoing major foot surgery that left her unable to play, Maddie’s her passion for playing turned into a desire to coach. Missing the sport dearly, she felt it was important to stay connected to the volleyball community. Her experience has shaped her belief that coaching is about more than just teaching a sport—it’s about being a mentor and playing a crucial role in an athlete’s development, both on and off the court.
Coach Maddie is passionate about creating an environment where players can grow, gain confidence, and learn life lessons such as teamwork, resilience, and perseverance. Her coaching philosophy is inspired by the belief that sports can teach us much more than athletic skills; they teach us about character and overcoming challenges.
Outside of coaching, Maddie is focused on her future, aspiring to major in biochemistry and ultimately pursue a career as a pediatric surgeon. She enjoys starting her day with a workout, teaching Sunday school, and spending time with friends and family. We are excited to welcome Maddie from player to Coach and can’t wait for her to share her passion for volleyball and help her athletes grow both as players and individuals.
