Jon Jon Escala, from the Philippines, came to the U.S. in 2009 and to Albuquerque in 2014. He joined ARVC in summer of 2019 as a coach for the Skill Train Play (STP) program.

Jon Jon started playing intramural volleyball in middle school and has continued as an adult. In 2010, he created the New Mexico Filipino-American Athletics, an organization that brings the Filipino community together for volleyball tournaments. For that group, he has played and Coached Women’s, Men’s and Coed Division since it began.

He is a technical analyst at UNM Cancer center.
