Madie Garrett

15N2 Head Coach

Coach Madie is entering her 6th year of coaching, this will be her 4th year as a head coach, and 3rd year coaching a national team. Madie has played volleyball for 14 years. She spent 6 years playing club volleyball as a defensive specialist and setter, 3 of which she played at La Cueva High School. Coach Madie played her first club year with a small local club, moved to New Mexico Juniors for two years, and finished her last three years at ARVC. She continuously works to keep her skills up through a competitive sand league and woman’s indoor pickup.

Through her years of experience as a player, spectator, and coach, she has found that the key to a successful team is mutual respect between players, parents, and coaches, and hard work every time you step on a court not only for yourself but for your team and those who support you.

Coach Madie is from Albuquerque, NM, and after high school had the opportunity to live in Arizona and Washington D.C. She has three degrees from the University of New Mexico, two bachelor’s and one master’s.  When she isn’t dedicating time to coaching, she works as a Project Engineer, plays volleyball, or spends time with her fiancé and 2-year-old pup.

Coach Madie's Favorite Quote - "Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice, and most of all love of what you are doing". -Pelé
