bio

Coach Amanda was born in Houston, Texas, and grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She developed a passion for volleyball early on when she played as a freshman at Cibola High School. Her love for the sport continued throughout her high school years, and she went on to play at Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU). Throughout her playing career, Amanda primarily played as a middle blocker (MB), but also gained valuable experience playing on both pins. This range of experience helped shape her understanding of the game from multiple perspectives in the front row.

Her transition into coaching began somewhat by chance. One day, Club Director Senobia Szuch happened to run into a friend’s mom at Costco, and mentioned that the team was in need of more coaches for the upcoming season. Amanda was elated with the opportunity and stepped in to help—and six years later, she has found herself deeply committed to coaching. Over the years, she has enjoyed watching young athletes not only improve their technical skills but also grow personally and socially, both on and off the court.

For Amanda, coaching has become more than just a way to give back to the sport that shaped her own athletic career. It’s about empowering young players, embracing a love for the game, and helping them develop life skills that will serve them long after they leave the court. As she reflects on her coaching journey, she’s is grateful for the opportunity to guide and mentor the next generation of athletes, and she’s excited for many more seasons to come.
